Taking the Mac plunge
I’ve been wanting to give OSX a try for a long time… I think it’s time to pick up a Mac mini…
This is going to be interesting…

Well… It’s only been a few months since I last posted…
I’ve been busy with EVE Online, classes, and the usual gaming tasks.
I recently acquired an iPad. So far, I’m pretty impressed. The build quality is, as with all Apple products, incredible.
The interface is very similar to the iPod touch / iPhone, but has a few design changes to take advantage of the larger screen. Text input with the on screen keyboard is much better than I thought it would be (this post was written in the WordPress iPad app), web browsing is fast and responsive, and all of the base apps have been redesigned to take advantage of the larger screen.
The clock and calculator apps aren’t present on the iPad, which is a bit silly. However, replacements can be found in the app store.
With the iPad, I think Apple has set the standard for mid sized mobile computing (as they did for micro size with the iPhone), and clearly established themselves as the market leader.
Hopefully I’ll have time to start writing some posts on EVE soon.
That’s all for now…
I am, of course, referring to Apple forcing everyone to buy overpriced hardware to use OSX. People have already done the leg work to run OSX on a PC. Instead of hiring those people, and selling OSX as an operating system, they send out cease and desist letters.
If OSX didn’t require “special” hardware (read overpriced junk) to use it, it would just be another operating system, and wouldn’t be so different from the competition.
I’m a little too tired to type straight, so I’ll finish this later…
